Silent Sentinal

Although it is very difficult for me to do stuff on the internet, I did want to upload this image that I finished not to long ago. It took me the better part of six hours to create during one afternoon. I am really pleased with this image as I experimented with shadow techniques. If you look closely enough you can see that both ships have a shadow on the rings of the gas giant. I did this so that I could show that both ships are quite large, and that the second ship is even larger.

I found the inspiration for this piece while reading the book "Two Moons" by James P. Hogan. I liked the scene where the giant aliens (the Ganymedians) first encountered the humans from earth. Their ship was much larger than the human ship in my mind made for a spectacular view.

I feel that to date this is my best piece. I have already put together several pieces of my artwork and plan to show it at an art walk in town next month. This piece will be the centerpiece of all my work. I have most all of the pieces framed and hopefully some of them will sell. (I never thought that I would be not only a starving writter and college student but also a starving artist, lol).

btw, just for info's sake, there are so many layers in this work that I lost count. (lol)
